Jason Byrne
FloSports, Inc.
MileSplit Founder, VP of Software Development
Fax: (877) 554-5150

Jason has been building web sites since the earliest days of the mainstream internet in 1994. It is his mastery of all things technical that powers MileSplit, while his vision has built it. He began the precursor to in 1997, before founding MileSplit in 2000 at 19 years old. Since then he has worked tirelessly to make his vision of a state-centric national network covering cross country and track & field become reality.

You might call Byrne a serial entrepreneur. He co-founded his first business at just 16 years old and was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce while just a junior in high school. As a high school senior he served as the youngest ever county official in Highlands County after being appointed by a county commissioner to an important and controversial county subcommittee.

After graduating from Florida Southern College in 2002 with a BA in Journalism and Spanish, Byrne co-founded a software company called EVware that supplies customer relationship management software to companies in the calibration service industry. He still serves as president and chief technical architect of that company. Byrne has developed web sites for such corporations as Coca-Cola, NHL, Tyco/ADT, Yupo, Fox SunSports, SpeedTV, and Nextel. He has been involved in track & field for over a decade as a runner, coach, and journalist. As an integral part of the running community in Florida, he started the Invitational in 2000 (which has grown into one of the largest meets in the country). Byrne became the driving force behind the development of a state-wide middle school track & field program in the way of a State Championship meet and Regional Qualifiers which have helped create new excitment, increased competition, and accelerating participation numbers in the middle school age bracket (our next generation of runners!). He has also spoken on meet management and running-related technology to groups such as the Florida Athletic Coaches Association and the Lakeland Runners Club.
