FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The fourth annual Northern Arizona Lumberjack Cross Country Camp is set for July 18-22 on NAU's Flagstaff Campus.
What better way to train in the sport than to learn from the coaches and staff of the 2017 and 2018 NCAA Men's Cross Country National Championship winning team?
For five days, athletes will be immersed in a training environment unlike any other in the nation. Campers will experience endless high altitude trails, a coaching staff with experience at every level, guest speakers with world and Olympic titles to their name all while surrounded by the two-time National Cross Country Champions from NAU.
The camp will be led by Northern Arizona's Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Michael Smith along with assistant coach Becca DeLoache.
"We love having the opportunity to share a snapshot of our daily lives as Lumberjacks with aspiring young runners," DeLoache said. "In one short week, campers are able to experience the same trails that led the NAU to back-to-back cross country national titles and that countless elite athletes travel from around the world to train on."
"Campers will be exposed to the same training program as the NAU Lumberjacks ensuing that each individual walks away with the essential tools necessary to reach their full potential as runners," DeLoache added.
The Lumberjack Cross Country camp is a unique opportunity for high school athletes to experience training with the back-to-back National Championships winning program at NAU. The program is designed for athletes to thrive in a camp environment based on specialized training, continued running education and individualized attention. Attendees will run with and learn from the Northern Arizona University coaches and athletes.
